Crafting Connection: The Moot’s First Workshop and the Return to Irish Roots

I still can't quite believe it — The Moot Creative has held its very first workshop!It was a day filled with warmth, laughter, turf-scented candles, and, most of all, connection.

As I stood in the Tara Building in Dublin, surrounded by people creating with their hands and hearts, I realised something powerful:we all carry our own family, our own culture, within us.Work often tries to replicate this feeling of belonging — but at The Moot, we don’t pretend.We say: you already have a family. You already have a home.Come sit with us, share your stories, and create something that your hands — and your heart — will remember.

Our first creative workshop in Dublin, where we made turf candles inspired by the old boglands of Ireland, taught me more than I could have imagined. It reminded me that crafts are not just about making — they’re about remembering. About rooting yourself to the land, to your story, and to the stories that came before you.

And now, with excitement bubbling in my chest, I look forward to June’s upcoming workshop:our very first Seaweed Soap Workshop.

This time, we'll turn to the coast — to the salt, the wild sea air, and the rich tradition of Irish natural ingredients.We'll craft handmade soap using seaweed gathered from our shores, oats, and other nurturing elements that our ancestors would have recognised and treasured.It’s not just about soap — it’s about touching something timeless.

As Ireland welcomes visitors home — those who fled generations ago, returning now as tourists — I think about what it means to truly return.You’re not just visiting. You’re coming back to a place your bones already know.Through every candle, every bar of soap, every story whispered over a crafting table,The Moot hopes to offer you a piece of that memory.

And this is just the beginning.Soon, we will also be opening the doors to bespoke corporate workshops — gatherings where teams can experience the same creative magic, reconnecting not just with each other, but with the deeper stories that tie us all together.
