The Moot is a liminal space — a gathering place — where stories, crafts, and memory intertwine. Rooted in mythology, folklore, and history, it’s not something new — it’s something old. A remembering.

Founded by Nicola Hamilton — artist, storyteller, and modern-day banfile — The Moot was born from a longing to make things feel beautiful again. To honour old traditions and the stories once told around fires and kitchen tables.

Nicola grew up in rural Ireland, in the west, where her youth was steeped in tales of the past and remedies passed down through generations. She saw that the world was searching for something — something she herself had been seeking. And so, through her love of storytelling, craft, and a deep curiosity for what came before, she created The Moot.

Through her Make Your Own workshops, Nicola invites others to reconnect with their history. To slow down. To remember. Just as we once did.
